Ulisse BonsaiPro Akadama Optima is Akadama Ibaraki Hard Quality from Japan, the substrate par excellence for your Bonsai trees. This substrate, consisting of inert matter, has optimal characteristics for growing potted plants, both small and large.

Used alone or as a percentage together with other substrates such as the Pumex Optima or the Lapillus Optima constitutes the media par excellence in Bonsai cultivation.

Endowed with excellent water retention capacity, in fact, it allows the proper hydration of roots and, thanks to macro porosity, the proper circulation of gases, oxygen and carbon dioxide.

The microporosity allows for the storage and slow release of moisture, while the excellent cation exchange makes it ideal for plant fertilization.

Due to its physical and chemical characteristics, this substrate is also often considered optimal for growing aquatic plants, used as a substrate in aquaria, particularly in Dutch aquaria. The shape and color also make it aesthetically pleasing, both in pots and aquariums.

Fine Grain Akadama Optima is particularly suitable for making Bonsai Shohin and Bonsai Mame.

Ibaraki BonsaiPro Akadama was sieved before packing to remove excess dust and properly select the grain size.
